Ontario has four distinct seasons throughout the year. Though it is cold outside in winter, many still like going for a walk nearby to get fresh air and exercise. One Saturday afternoon, it was clear and the sun was shining warmly on the snow. I went for a walk after putting on warm clothes.
In order to get more sunshine, I would like to walk towards the sun, and choose the path that could avoid going through the shadows of buildings. Since the general direction to our goal is to walk away from the sun, it is unavoidable that the sun will shine on the back. Of course, on the way back, there will naturally be more time to walk facing the sun. If you keep your pace constant and avoid building shadows, you'll walk towards the sun half the time.
To get more sunshine, I speeded up my pace when walking away from the sun, and slowed down when walking towards the sun. I got the sunshine more than half of the time, and I felt warmer in my heart.
When I thought about this walk again back at home. Two important points appeared in my mind:
1. In the real environment, try to adapt and protect yourself: Put on warm clothes and go out to get fresh air and exercise
2. Work smarter instead of harder: Walk the same distance, get more sunshine and feel better and happier; Kill two birds with one stone: walking exercise and getting fresh air and sunshine.
The above scene is actually very typical in our lives:
First of all, have a goal in mind: sunshine; Then, classify two different situations: toward the goal and away from the goal; Finally, take right actions: strengthening the former, and cutting down the latter. Repeating this with initiatives and smart strategies will lead us towards a better and happier life.
